Based on Geographical, Hulu Belantikan is located between 1 17’– 1 37’ S and 111 13’ – 111 37’ E. The northern part of Belantikan, there is a Schwaner Mountains range along theprovince’s border with West Kalimantan. Batang Kawa is a district’s border to westen Belantikan and district east-Bulik in the east. Belantikan topography is hilly areas with undulating contours, while in the valley flow beautiful rivers with quite rapid cascade and there are salt lick within the forest. Belantikan area have a forest Structure and composition dominant by Dipterocarpaceae. There are a different type of forest community in Belantikan, like hill evergreen forest ,swamp forest, woody shrubs and grass cover community and riparian plant community.
The settlement of Belantikan area hereditary inhibited by The Tumon Dayak. Several villages in Belantikan area, such as Nanga Mantu, Bintang Mengalih, Kahingai. In Nanga Matu, there are 29 households with 100 people, 89 households in Bintang Mengalih with 312 people and 85 households in Kahingai with 257 people.
Belantikan Area have many varieties of common and unique plants which can only be found on Borneo, like Meranti, Tengkawang, Nyatoh and Ulin. This place also known as paradise of wildlife. We can visit salt lick in this area and found bulls, deer, Red langur monkey and many more. Or you can do wildlife observation activity like birdwatching. You can found at least 239 species of birds and found Orangutan, Gibbons, Proboscis monkey, deer and any kind of frog. Wildlife observation can possibly done while nocturnal animal are starting their activity (like Bornean slow loris and tarsier). The Dayak tribes who live in Belantikan have an unique tradition and culture that they still retain age old tradition like cultural ceremonies, welcome ceremony (benaik benaiki) etc. Moreover, you can actually engage and experience itself as an attraction.
